New Diaper Covers

As most of you know we use cloth diapers and love them.  They save us lots of money and these days they have adorable covers to put your babies in.  I recently decided to try a new brand called Weehuggers and today is the first day we have used them...like them lots.  Sometimes Henry has blow outs and today he tried to have one, but the Weehuggers kept it all in :-)

5 Months!!!

Wow...five months already!
Here is what he is doing at 5 months:
-He has high pitch scream when having fun. 
-Laughing when playing and tickled.
-Doing a little sitting up, as you can see from the pictures.  Can support himself for little while before falling forward or to the side.
-Tried Rice Cereal for the first time this week.  Mostly wearing it, but he dives in for your finger/spoon when it is near by. 
-Loves playing in the jumperoo.
-Pushing up on arms more when on tummy and rolls over on to back from tummy (been doing that since 3 months).
-Sleeping at night a bit better.
-Reaching for things and trying to put everything in his mouth.
-Weighing in around 13lbs.

Playtime

Here are some pictures of Henry enjoying playtime over the last week.  It is so much fun making him laugh/giggle.  It was pretty warm here for a few days, in the high 80s, so he was enjoying not having to wear a shirt all the time.

Women's Retreat

Wow what a great trip.  We left Friday morning and I was worried how Henry would do on a long car trip, but he did great on the way there.  This was a church retreat for Pentecostal women. On Saturday between services Henry got to go swimming for the first time.  He enjoyed that until it got too cold.  Out of our group Jodi and Karla sang, and Jodi and Loraine were also in charge of introduction at services.  Henry was enjoying himself because everyone there wanted to hold him.  He did fantastic during all the services and really wasn't disruptive to any of the presenters.  On our way home Sunday we did have a very scary moment.  On I70 around Idaho Springs a deer came out in front of the car.  There was no way for Loraine to avoid it.  I have to say she did amazing on how she handled it.  She knew if she tried to avoid it we would of been in an accident with a car or into the rock wall on the passenger side.  There was no damage to the car and everyone was ok.  I am pretty sure the prayer for safe travels before we left helped us out.  Henry did not enjoy the way home, he cried about 75% of the trip back, poor baby.  It was a fantastic trip, but we were also happy to get back to Chris.

Easter

Pictures taken after we got home from church this afternoon.  It was yucky outside, so had to stick to indoor pictures. Happy Easter!

Must say a big thanks to Brent and Amy for sending us some of the things Dax grew out of.  Henry loves to play in his jumperoo/exersaucer.

Crazy Week

Well this week was a bit crazy.  The dogs took off on a run on Tuesday and could not be found.  Juneau returned that night alone, which had me pretty worried about Jake and Yukon.  Our Septic system also was having some issues on Tuesday.  The leach field is draining back into the tank, not good at all.  A new leach field must be installed and since that is being done we are upgrading the tank, since is smaller then the normal size tank (our current tank is 750 gallons, normal tanks are 1500 gallons).  If we kept the current tank Chris was also going to have to climb down into it to cut up the massive root ball that grew into it (taking up about 10% of the tank; guessing about 3.5-4 feet in diameter).  I bet Chris is very happy we are putting a new tank in.  The bad thing is they can't get the new leach field and tank installed until Monday, weather permitting.  So we must limit all water use that involves draining until repair is done.  I can't wait until it is all fixed.

Wednesday morning Henry and I loaded up for a long hike to search for the dogs.  We let Juneau lead the way and she took us a direction we have never gone with the dogs; no luck finding them after 2 hours of walking.  On Wednesday afternoon I created a flyer for our missing dogs and asked our friends/neighbors while they were in town at Church if they could put the flyers up.  I figured since I was over there I would take another look for the dogs that direction; since it was the direction Juneau had taken us that morning.  Sure enough, got very lucky and found the two of them about 4 miles away from the house and running the wrong direction.  They are home and safe, they just smell awful...they met a skunk on their adventure.  I would bathe them, but between the limited amount of showers I can take this week and the fact is snowing they will just have to be stinky for a little while.

Big thanks to the Cook Family for helping search for the dogs and helping Chris out on the septic system.  We are very fortunate to have met such good friends/neighbors.

Pine Wood Derby Day at Church

Chris was asked to judge the Pine wood Derby at the church on Saturday.  The kids from our church and another church built their cars with their family and raced them.  In total there was around 15 kids competing in the race. They all seemed to have a lot of fun.  Here are a couple snap shots.
