Baby Henry

We are expecting an amazing little boy. His name is Henry, still working on the middle name. The above ultrasound pictures are from a couple of months ago (at 20 weeks). Below are some pictures of my 28 week baby belly.
As many of you know this is very exciting for Chris and I. We have been trying to have a little one for a few years now and have lost one baby on the journey. Chris took a job over-the-road driving so we stopped with all tracking and testing since there was no guarantee when he would be home. Just as everyone had told us, when you stop trying that is when it happens. Thank you everyone for all of your love, prayers and support.

Hiking on April 10th
To get out of the house during the open house we drove up to the mountains for a little hiking. The weather was decent in the morning then got a little overcast and sprinkled a bit. We ended up just past Jamestown and the went further towards Estes Park. It is so nice to get out and see the beauty of Colorado.

Pinewood Springs Saturday March 27th
Pawnee Buttes Sunday March 28th, 2010
Over the weekend our house had showings scheduled for Saturday and an Open house on Sunday, so we had to get out with the dogs. On Saturday we picked up Steve and his dogs (Stormy and Spook) and went to Pinewood Springs for a little mountain hiking. On Sunday we headed out with the dogs to Pawnee Buttes at the Pawnee National Grasslands. It is funny to see pictures from one day with lots of snow and the other with desert like land. Got to love Colorado and all the outdoor options.

January 15-17, 2010 Lake Pueblo State Park
We wanted to get out and enjoy the weather, so we headed to Lake Pueblo State Park. Since it was only a couple hour drive we headed out Friday night. Instead of setting up camp we opted to stay in the back of the truck. Test out the new truck topper. On Saturday we got up hiked with the dogs then head out to do some kayaking. It was beautiful out, no clouds just sun and in the high 50s. Getting out was interesting, since off the edge of land was ice. We thought it would break up easily but we were wrong; you had to push on the ice to get to the open water. Saturday night just hung out by the camp fire then headed to bed. Sunday we went on a hike then for a short kayak trip. I thought I was doing so well, then it happened, I fell in the water. Burr, cold nothing like a little ice water to wake you up. Headed to the car for dry clothes while Chris hung out by the kayaks. Then it was time to pack up and head home.
Christmas 2009 Holiday
Over the Holidays my Dad and Mum came to visit us. They were only here for a short while, but it was wonderful to see them. Chris and I took them out for ride on the Georgetown Train one day and followed up with some shopping in the area.
Chris and I had a week off over the holiday, which was nice. We went hiking at Pinewood Springs one day, shopping for a new camera another, went to the butterfly museum and relaxed at home with movies. Here are some pictures from our Holiday.

First Half of our Hunting Trip Oct. 2009
Time to go hunting! We picked a spot near Livermore, CO to try out our first hunting trip in Colorado together, Rachel's first hunting trip ever. We got out there Saturday afternoon got set up then went on short hike to check out the area. Sunday morning we headed out around 5:30am for our first hunt. About 2 hours into our hike we spotted some deer, 4 or 5, but they were all doe and we had buck tags. A few hours later we saw some wild turkey, no tags for, then we got within about 15 yards of another group of deer. Once again they were all doe. After hiking for 5 hours we decided to head back to camp, we knew it was at least another 3 hour hike. On Monday we were pretty exhausted so slept in and headed out about 11am. We decided we would hike up a mountain to see what we could find. No animals up there, just lots of bear scat and beautiful views. Then it was time to go down, steep and rocky, but worth it for the views. We found an area that we could tell the deer bed in; decided to check it out on Tuesday morning. Tuesday we got up early and headed out to the hill overlooking the area we scouted. Very cold morning, but then finally we saw movement. About 10 deer in total. We couldn't get a great view to see if there were any bucks, so we followed them a bit. Rachel couldn't tell if there was a buck for sure up there, so wasn't comfortable taking the shot. Chris though, being the pro he is, could tell and was comfortable taking the shot. We hiked up the hill to find him then had to field dress and load him in our sled. Now a 3 mile hike up and down hills back to camp, exhausting. Rachel was to head back with the dogs and to the meat processor. Chris would stay back and scout out a couple more places for the rest of our hunting trip. We still have another buck tag, bear tag, and elk tag. See slide show below for all the pictures of the first half of the trip.
